About Us

Unknown.jpeg

Samir - name of Arabic origin, meaning:"a friend to talk to in the nighttime."

History: Unknown. Temperament: Unknown. Multiple returns to the shelter. Seeing him caged broke my heart, so I took home a fully grown male South African Mastiff. This breed is banned in seventeen countries around the world. Their bite force can reach up to 700 psi - stronger than an adult lion. This blog is for all my Boerboel people out there. For the Mastiff moms, for the Dogo daddies, and for everyone who's ever had to wake up at 5am to walk their reactive dog before the rest of the world wakes up. This blog is for people who love difficult dogs, tense morning strolls and second chances. This blog is for you...and you..and your furry sidekicks too.

Our Story

Follow the adventures of a Boerboel named Samir. At the shelter, he became totally unresponsive to the world, after being caged for close to twenty four hours a day. Now, he enjoys terrorizing local dogs, dragging his human up and down the beach, opening doors with his muzzle, giving unsolicited "High-fives" to strangers, and disobeying his mom at every turn.
